About The Position

Lead a department of 10-15 individuals in daily communication meetings, assigning daily workloads. Train, motivate, and lead the department to achieve daily production and safety goals, under the direction of the shift supervisor. Take accountability for all department operations, actions, and results.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Experience in Warehousing
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to communicate in English
  • Judgement and decision making
  • Adept knowledge of RF Scanners/Systems
  • Use of computers and associated software programs including Microsoft Office
  • Ability to be certified to operate a Forklift (Order Picker, Sit-down or Walkie-Rider)
  • Ability to understand the basic throughput of a Logistics Operation
  • Ability to lead 10 or more people in a warehouse setting
  • Shipping and/or Receiving experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily communication meetings and issue daily work assignments.
  • Train, motivate, and lead the department to meet production and safety goals.
  • Take accountability for department operations, actions, and results.
  • Assist with start-up meetings and report attendance issues.
  • Reassign personnel to different areas based on business needs and attendance.
  • Assign picking tasks to team members.
  • Monitor order picking progress hourly.
  • Enforce company policies, including PPE requirements.
  • Pick 'hot' orders requiring same-day shipment.
  • Ensure pickers check 5 pieces per order.
  • Oversee the training of new employees.
  • Monitor all areas for housekeeping and WPO (Warehouse Performance Objectives).
  • Communicate safety, productivity, or quality issues to the supervisor.
  • Monitor weekly workload with the supervisor to identify overtime needs.
  • Request maintenance for mechanical issues with wrappers or bar coders.
  • Support environmental projects and initiatives within the department.
  • Actively support and promote the Environmental Policy.
  • Understand operations and applicable environmental requirements.
  • Ensure proper procedures for handling chemicals and waste are followed.
  • Ensure compliance with all environmental procedures within the department.
