About The Position

The Outbound Lead is responsible for coordinating daily outbound distribution and transportation activities. This position assists with driver routing, shipment documentation, 26-foot box truck operations, third-party freight coordination, and the safe loading and delivery of products. The Outbound Lead provides direction and support to drivers and outbound personnel while ensuring accuracy, safety, productivity, and timely deliveries.

Requirements

  • Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify process improvements.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in English (verbal and written).
  • Working knowledge of safety procedures and inventory control practices.
  • Basic computer skills, including data entry and scanning.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Demonstrated leadership and accountability.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs unassisted and more with assistance.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record, if required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily outbound activities and prioritize work based on delivery schedules and customer requirements.
  • Assist with setting daily driver routes and communicating assignments and delivery instructions.
  • Prepare, organize, and verify delivery and shipping documents.
  • Coordinate with Fulfillment to ensure orders are completed, staged, and ready for shipment.
  • Verify outbound orders for accuracy, quantity, condition, and destination.
  • Ensure drivers and employees follow company safety policies and procedures.
  • Monitor staffing and labor hours to meet operational and budget goals.
  • Inspect material-handling equipment and coordinate maintenance as needed.
  • Prioritize daily workflow to meet outbound goals and deadlines.
  • Ensure daily tasks are completed accurately and according to company standards.
  • Coordinate fleet inspections, maintenance, repairs, and daily vehicle needs.
  • Report vehicle safety and maintenance concerns to Management.
  • Coordinate third-party freight pickups and ensure proper shipment documentation.
  • Track shipments and communicate delays, damages, shortages, or other issues.
  • Oversee the safe and accurate loading of company vehicles and third-party shipments.
  • Ensure drivers have required paperwork and delivery instructions.
  • Assist with resolving delivery discrepancies, damages, shortages, and customer concerns.
  • Ensure returned products and delivery paperwork are properly processed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe loading and staging area.
  • Assist with process improvement and special projects as assigned.
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments including but not limited to Products, Purchasing, IT, HR, Stores.
  • Serve as liaison between warehouse associates and management.
  • Provide updates and reports on outbound metrics, performance, and improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Promote and enforce proper lifting techniques and safe handling procedures.
  • Participate in audits and assist with annual physical inventories.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and labeling practices.
  • Act as a backup to the Supervisor when needed.
  • Participate in any special projects or assignments as requested by upper management.
