About The Position

The Out of School Time Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of day-to-day programs during out of school time. The OST Program Manager will work with the Child Thrive Director and other program managers to identify and recruit at risk youth in the community and Children’s Place Association programs most likely to benefit from Child Thrive OST programs. The OST Program Manager will work with Child Thrive Director to develop appropriate program relationships. the Development team to recruit mentors and will screen, orient and train mentors. The OST Program Manager will recruit, supervise, train, and lead the part time OST instructors.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Education, Human Services or a related field from an accredited college or university required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years progressive experience including developing and implementing children focused support services.
  • Strong familiarity with the target population.
  • Excellent capacity to develop relationships with potential mentees, parents, and community members.
  • Strong relational building skills and ability to relate well across the socioeconomic spectrum and with the corporate community.
  • Demonstrated management skills for effective use of program resources and coordination of agency services.
  • Dynamic, energetic, and analytical approach to work.
  • Ability to use cleaning products to clean equipment and to wash and sanitize dishes.
  • Ability to read and write English at a level to fill out food orders, read catalogs and maintain temperature logs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement day-to-day programs during out of school time.
  • Identify and recruit at-risk youth for OST programs.
  • Develop appropriate program relationships with the Child Thrive Director.
  • Recruit, screen, orient, and train mentors with the Development team.
  • Recruit, supervise, train, and lead part-time OST instructors.
  • Manage OST programs (on and offsite), including afterschool programs, summer and holiday day camps, teen college readiness and career exploration programs, special events, and traditional mentoring.
  • Screen all potential part-time instructor candidates through interviews and background checks.
  • Provide specialized training for part-time staff and mentors.
  • Create workday and lesson plans for OST programs.
  • Organize program sessions that outline goals and procedures.
  • Supervise ongoing mentor/mentee relationships, including mentee reporting and mentor support.
  • Provide guidance to part-time staff and children to ensure an enriching experience.
  • Address concerns about conduct or conflict, partnering with the Child Thrive Director for resolution.
  • Maintain and expand relationships with Children’s Place programs and other referring agencies.
  • Recognize participants, mentors, and staff, and offer closure activities at the end of programs and special events.
  • Secure all parent consent forms and participant applications with the Program Operations Assistant and maintain participant files, including goals and outcome measurements.
  • Maintain documentation for compliance, continuous improvement, and evaluation activities.
  • Collaborate with Development Department liaises, Program Managers, and corporate partners for mentors.
  • Represent the Child Thrive Mentoring Program in the community.
  • Take a lead role in exploring community collaborations and developing supplemental support services for children/youth.
  • Communicate with parents/families, mentor sponsors, and other organizations.
  • Develop and implement ongoing evaluation procedures with leadership.
  • Create and analyze program metrics for evaluation.
  • Provide reports to management, including monthly data into an operational summary.
  • Assist in other programmatic functions as required, such as special events.

Benefits

  • Salary Range: $38,000-$40,000
