About The Position

Club J Out of School Care is seeking motivated and reliable individuals for part-time positions. The program involves school pick-ups, presenting engaging activities, and fostering a fun environment. Club J aims to grow caring, curious, confident, and resilient thinkers, providing a space where children feel valued, respected, and heard. The program encourages problem-solving, creativity, and teamwork, with programming guided by children's interests. Staff build meaningful relationships with children and families.

Requirements

Experience working with children – Have you been a Camp leader? Done volunteer/ coaching work on a team, at a library or school setting? Babysitting? It all counts!
Responsible Adult Certificate
Valid Criminal Records Check (covered by JCC at time of hire)
Valid First Aid Certificate
Minimum 19 years old

Nice To Haves

Jewish background not required

Responsibilities

Implement strategies within a child’s care plan and work closely with supervisor and supporting agencies (i.e. Centre for Ability, physio, speech)
Take the lead with the child as and when needed
Be available to the child if and when needed, including daily care needs (feeding, bathroom, dressing etc.)
Make a connection and communicate with the child's family, checking in with the supervisor for support prior to any sensitive conversations
Work with a team to plan and implement a quality program for young children, maintain healthy relationships and communicate effectively and respectfully with children, families and colleagues
Be familiar with the expectations and requirements of Community Care Licensing
Support each child’s holistic development using the BC Early Learning Framework
Demonstrate understanding of and respect for the competency of young children
