About The Position

As a Value Object Partner in the Sustainable Productivity organisation for Gas Power Global Services, you are the partner from the lean team on Contracts Managed, Planning, Demand Placement and Remittance. Every value object has an owner in the business; you are the counterpart who makes improvement in those value objects real, measurable and permanent. You own the non-value-add hour position for your value objects, the accumulated process knowledge behind it, and the confirmation that improvements have actually landed in the way the work is done. You partner with the value object owners to build, defend and improve the hour baselines that the business plans against.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college, or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in power generation, energy, industrial services, field services, or related sectors.
  • Significant experience in lean, continuous improvement, operations, services, manufacturing, or operational excellence roles, including facilitating lean tools such as business process mapping, standard work, daily management, structured problem solving and action plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated experience deploying lean principles and operating systems in complex, matrixed business environments.
  • Proven ability to coach process owners and teams to improve operating discipline and sustain standard work.
  • Strong coaching mindset with the ability to provide direct, constructive feedback and build sustainable capability.
  • Strong problem-solving, facilitation, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across regions, functions, and organizational levels.

Nice To Haves

  • You can hold a room of people from different functions, none of whom report to you, and get to a decision.
  • You are a self-starter with the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable insight.
  • You bring energy and a growth mindset and can create followership in teams you do not manage.
  • You bring strong knowledge of GE Vernova’s lean principles, operating rhythm, and continuous improvement methodologies, ideally including Gas Power technologies and services.
  • You have strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills, with a high degree of accountability and execution focus across a geographically dispersed organization.
  • Experience in contracts and demand placement is an advantage.
  • Fluency in English
  • EU work permit
  • Successful applicant must have the legal right to live and work in Hungary

Responsibilities

  • Own the hour position for your value objects.
  • Establish and maintain the overall working hour baseline for each of Contracts Managed, Planning, Demand Placement and Remittance, working with process and value object owners who own the underlying numbers.
  • Ensure the derivation of every baseline is documented and agreed, and ensure revalidation at each planning cycle.
  • Present the hours position and its basis at Sustainable Productivity approval reviews, and reconcile realised hours in your baseline.
  • Build working command of the complexity and growth models that set the forward-year hour basis, and contribute to shaping those models alongside the value object owners.
  • Build the process base for your value objects.
  • Build and maintain the accumulated record of your value objects: standard work, baseline derivations, root causes found, improvements attempted and why they were stopped, and agreements reached with value object owners. This is held in the QMS.
  • Contribute to the improvement plan for your value objects, which is owned by the contracts and planning organisation leadership.
  • Hold a standing relationship with each value object owner, and be the person they call when something in their value object is not working.
  • Contribute to the monthly operating review for the value stream, and to the quarterly and annual planning cycles.
  • Lead Lean Events and problem-solving activity where the improvement sits predominantly inside your value objects, including where the root cause is not yet established when the work begins.
  • Coach process owners and teams in the contracts and planning organisation using Kata, daily management and structured problem solving.
  • Support the process owner or executive sponsor to author the business problem statement. Do not author it on their behalf.
  • Participate in daily management and problem-solving routines within your value objects.
  • Ensure every improvement affecting your value objects is embedded in the process owner’s standard work, and confirmed by the people doing the work, before it is closed.
  • Run sustainment checks with process owners and executive sponsors.
  • Where support falls away, raise awareness with sponsors with what is needed and by when, escalate where that does not resolve it, and stop the work where it still does not.
  • Run a short reflection at the close of every improvement, on how it ran rather than what it delivered, and route what comes out of it back into the process base.
