OTR Driver (CDL-A)
About The Position
The OTR Driver operates commercial motor vehicle tractors and trailers on public highways and company property, complying with FMCSA regulations while transporting goods. The driver moves, stacks, and unloads C.H.I. doors and products at destinations including C.H.I. service centers and dealer locations. This is a physically demanding position involving lifting more than 80 pounds in a unique trailer environment and may involve forklifts, jacks, carts, racks, pallets, moving boxes, packages, and other support components. All runs originate and terminate in Arthur, Illinois. Residing in the area is ideal but not required. First-year drivers earn a minimum of $100,000. Pay varies based on factors such as mileage and stops. Compensation includes pay for all miles driven, pay per stop for live loads and unloads, detention pay, per diem, hourly pay for miscellaneous work, paid safety training, and a driver referral bonus. The position offers weekly home time and a set schedule. Safety is the most important part of all jobs at Nucor. Teammates are expected to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. Nucor contributes 10% of its pre-tax earnings annually to its Profit Sharing Plan for eligible teammates; a large portion is deposited into the teammate's account and a smaller portion is distributed in cash. The stated current six-year average is 19.88% of eligible earnings, which include regular pay, overtime, and bonus.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a valid CDL-A license.
- Possess a valid DOT Medical Card or be eligible to receive one before hire.
- Be able to lift more than 80 pounds.
