About The Position

Vivant Health is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Otolaryngologist (ENT Physician) to launch and grow its Otolaryngology service line within our expanding multispecialty physician organization serving the greater Sacramento region. This role offers the opportunity to build a thriving practice supported by a strong primary care referral network within a physician-led, value-based care organization. The physician will provide comprehensive outpatient ENT care while collaborating with primary care providers, specialists, hospitals, and surgical centers to deliver coordinated, high-quality patient care. Requirements

  • Demonstrated competency in the evaluation and management of general otolaryngology conditions and proficiency in routine outpatient ENT procedures.
  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school required.
  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery residency required.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery required.
  • Active and unrestricted State of California Physician Medical License required.
  • Current DEA registration and all licenses or certifications required to practice medicine in California required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with diverse individuals and groups inside and outside of Vivant Health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive outpatient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and longitudinal management of adult and pediatric otolaryngologic (ENT) conditions.
  • Perform routine office-based ENT procedures, including flexible fiberoptic laryngoscopy, diagnostic nasal endoscopy, ear microscopy, cerumen removal, myringotomy with tympanostomy tube placement, lesion biopsy, epistaxis management, incision and drainage procedures, foreign body removal, and other procedures commonly performed within a general otolaryngology practice.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based medical management, office-based procedures, and surgical intervention when clinically appropriate.
  • Coordinate care with primary care physicians, advanced practice providers, specialists, care managers, behavioral health providers, and ancillary services to ensure seamless transitions and continuity of care across the healthcare continuum.
  • Utilize telemedicine, virtual visits, and electronic consultations, as appropriate, to improve specialty access, patient convenience, and continuity of care.
  • Collaborate with community hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, and tertiary referral centers to facilitate advanced diagnostic evaluations, complex surgical procedures, multidisciplinary treatment planning, and subspecialty care.
  • Coordinate perioperative assessments, surgical referrals, postoperative management, and ongoing follow-up care to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of services.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Participate actively in quality improvement initiatives, care coordination activities, and population health programs that support organizational goals and value-based care delivery.
  • Adhere to all applicable clinical, regulatory, and organizational policies, procedures, and standards of practice while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
