About The Position

The BWL is seeking OT Network Administrators I-IV to join their team. These roles are responsible for planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links. Responsibilities include troubleshooting network performance issues, analyzing network traffic, and providing capacity planning solutions. Requirements

CCNT or equivalent experience required (Level I).
0-1 years of experience as a Network Administrator working in a secure multi-networked, Internet connected environment (Level I).
Ability to work effectively with vendor technical support such as TAC (Levels I, II, III, IV).
Ability to work in a team environment (Levels I, II, III, IV).
Ability to retrieve data from computerized, typed, and written sources (Levels I, II, III, IV).
Ability to effectively communicate orally or in writing project recommendations with internal teams and external agencies (Levels I, II, III, IV).
Strong written and oral communication skills (Levels I, II, III, IV).
CNA required or Fortinet equivalent experience required (Level II).
Associates Degree in Information Management, Computer Science or similar (Level II).
3 years of demonstrated experience as a network administrator in an enterprise environment (Level II).
Knowledge designing and implementing VLANs (Levels II, III, IV).
Mastery of all level 1 skills (Level II).
Competent with VTP, ISL, 802.10, STP, RSTP, vPC, BGP, EIGRP (Level II).
Competent with Layer 2 and Layer 3 switching (Level II).
Upgrade new and standard products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environment (Level II).
Knowledge equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Level III).
5 years of demonstrated experience as a network administrator in an enterprise environment (Level III).
CNNP required or Fortinet equivalent experience required (Levels III & IV).
Mastery of all level 1 and 2 skills (Level III).
Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with: Enterprise-class network/ telecommunication technology understanding (Level III).
Experience with VPN and routing protocols like OSPF, TCP/UDP, IPV4, IP addressing techniques (NAT/PAT), virtual LANs, L2 Switching, L3 routing (Level III).
Experience with different firewall products (Fortinet, Cisco FMC) (Level III).
CNNP required or Fortinet equivalent experience required (Level IV).
Bachelors Degree in Information Management, Computer Science or similar (Level IV).
8 years of demonstrated experience as a network administrator in an enterprise environment (Level IV).
Mastery of all level 1-3 skills (Level IV).
Competent with VTP, ISL, 802.10, STP, RSTP, vPC, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, and datacenter technologies (Level IV).
Competent with Layer 2 and Layer 3 routing and switching (Level IV).
Clearly able to navigate charged political or interpersonal situations to calm the waters and focus on remediation of technical challenges (Level IV).
Able to produce clear, professional written and verbal communication that clearly and concisely communicates technical content in a manner appropriate for the intended audience (Level IV).
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for much of the working day (Level IV).
The person in this position needs to move about inside the office environment (Level IV).
Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment (Level IV).
Ability to adjust focus, especially due to concentration on a computer screen (Level IV).
Must communicate frequently with other departments and employees both verbally and in writing (Level IV).
May need to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and/or position the body to reach items on the floor/ below the knee level or reach above head (Level IV).
On occasion, may need to use stairs (Level IV).
Constantly works in a temperature-controlled office environment (Level IV).

Certification in one or more technologies desired: Cisco routing and switching, MPLS and other internet technologies, Cisco ISE and/or Radius, Fortinet, VPN and Tunneling setup and management, DNS, DHCP, other standard networking technologies, Cloud networking including AWS and Azure, competent with CLI and GUI configuration of Cisco and Fortinet devices (Level II).

Experience with Cisco product implementation and troubleshooting (Level III).
Familiar with Linux systems administration, particularly RHEL and variants (Level III).
Experience using Splunk for log analysis (Level III).
Certification in one or more technologies desired: Cisco routing and switching, MPLS and other internet technologies, Cisco ISE and/or Radius, Fortinet, VPN and Tunneling setup and management, DNS, DHCP, other standard networking technologies, Cloud networking including AWS and Azure, competent with CLI and GUI configuration of Cisco and Fortinet devices (Level IV).

Responsibilities

Planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, network devices, associated software, and communication links.
Troubleshooting network performance issues.
Analyzing network traffic and providing redundancy, quality of service, and capacity planning solutions.
Handling project tasks with guidance from senior network administrators or vendor technical support (Level I).
Completing most tickets related to network administration, including basic route/switch and ACI configuration without assistance (Levels II & IV).
Independently completing support tickets related to network administration without assistance (Levels II & IV).
Participating in the on-call rotation (Levels II & IV).
Being assigned as a secondary resource for LBWL in at least one core technology and able to execute upgrades and patching (Level II).
Being assigned as the primary resource for LBWL in at least one core technology and able to demonstrate technical leadership, execute in planning upgrades and patching (Level IV).
Identifying risk and providing risk mitigation when making changes in a network environment (Level III).
Installing and configuring network devices like Fortinet FortiSwitches and FortiGate firewalls (Level III).
Assisting in coordination of testing changes, upgrades, and new products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments.
Making recommendations on functional and technical improvements to the environment.
Coordinating and working with other data center teams such as Server, Storage, and Backup Operations (Level III).
Maintaining Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) tokens for customer and vendor access (Level III).
Participating in performance and volume analysis and design; participating in performance improvement activities (Level III).
Identifying and applying potential improvements related to the environment for an application.
Providing accurate and complete answers to general use and environment questions in a timely manner.
Providing effective on-site environment support as needed (Level III).
Accurately setting severity of identified defects.
Providing input to training and/or documentation materials regarding latest technical and functional design changes.
Ensuring that all work is documented for future reference.

Serving as liaison between teams for network planning and connectivity.
Developing appropriate functional and usability standards for the environments.
Planning or assisting in planning network environment, including supporting existing structure and enhancements.
Upgrading new and standard products, ensuring systems will operate correctly in current and future environments.
Anticipating, identifying, tracking, and resolving issues and risks affecting own work and work of the Application or Environment team (Level III).
Actively monitoring the health of network resources including conducting capacity planning for future budget years (Level IV).
Self-managing small discrete technical projects including limited requirements to delegate tasks to others or obtain assistance to others without management involvement (Level IV).
Independently authoring standards documents for use within the department (Level IV).
Self-prioritizing most work with limited guidance from IT management (Level I & II) or IT/OT management (Level IV).
Providing mentoring and training to less senior system administrators in both technical and professional areas (Level IV).
Actively engaged helping both peers and junior personnel raise the bar on their performance (Level IV).
Researching and determining new technologies to be deployed to meet evolving needs at LBWL (Level IV).
Complying with all BWL policies and work rules.
Maintaining predictable and reliable attendance.
Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
