About The Position

Buckley Cable Construction is seeking an experienced OSP Telecommunications Field Supervisor to oversee field construction operations throughout our Keystone Pennsylvania market, primarily covering Lancaster, York, Dauphin, Berks, and Adams Counties. This is a hands-on, field-based leadership position responsible for overseeing daily OSP construction activities, coordinating in-house and subcontractor crews, maintaining production schedules, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with customer specifications and quality standards. The successful candidate should expect to spend the majority of the workday in the field visiting active projects, inspecting construction, communicating with crews, resolving issues, and keeping projects moving toward completion.

Requirements

  • Previous OSP telecommunications construction experience strongly preferred.
  • Previous Field Supervisor, Foreman, General Foreman, or similar field leadership experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of aerial and underground telecommunications construction.
  • Ability to read and understand OSP construction prints and designs.
  • Understanding of telecommunications construction and quality standards.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple crews and active projects.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
  • Comfortable using smartphones, tablets, email, and construction/project tracking systems.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily OSP construction activities throughout Lancaster, York, Dauphin, Berks, and Adams Counties.
  • Oversee aerial, underground, fiber, and coax construction activities as applicable.
  • Coordinate and manage in-house and subcontractor field crews.
  • Establish daily and weekly field production priorities.
  • Visit active jobsites to verify progress, workmanship, safety, and compliance with construction specifications.
  • Ensure crews have the information, materials, equipment, and access necessary to complete assigned work.
  • Identify construction obstacles, design conflicts, access issues, permitting concerns, and other conditions affecting production.
  • Communicate field issues and project delays promptly to Project Management and Operations.
  • Verify completed construction before projects are submitted for QC and closeout.
  • Identify deficiencies while crews are still in the field to reduce QC failures, rework, and unnecessary return trips.
  • Coordinate corrective work and ensure deficiencies are resolved promptly.
  • Track and communicate job status, production, delays, and crew availability.
  • Read and interpret construction prints, maps, designs, and project documentation.
  • Ensure restoration and jobsite cleanup meet company and customer standards.
  • Enforce Buckley Cable Construction safety policies and customer requirements.
  • Maintain accountability for production, quality, safety, and project completion dates throughout the assigned territory.
