About The Position

Startech Networks, Inc. is seeking an experienced OSP Field Engineer candidate with US Work Authorization to join our growing team in the Monroe, LA area. The successful candidate must possess the knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience requirements outlined below. They should have a thorough understanding of various AT&T-related OSP Wireline processes and guidelines. We offer Fielding Unit pay based upon candidate invoicing for this position.

Requirements

• US Work Authorization
• Thorough understanding of various AT&T-related OSP Wireline processes and guidelines.
• Good Customer, Vendor, and Project Management Skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively over the phone, via email, and in person.
• Ability to read and understand work prints from various drafting systems, such as AutoCAD and ARAMIS.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to transfer field notes into KMZ file.
• Google Earth knowledge.
• Ability to understand FTTx and AT&T GPON design.

Responsibilities

• Perform scoping of OSP-related projects.
• Design, provision, document, outside plant fiber optic cable (UG, Aerial, and Buried).
• Understand manhole and conduit design.
• Take field notes following OSP Design Principles and having the ability to transfer those notes into KMZ file.
• Understand pole loading and ROW permit needs.
• Maintain efficient working timelines while multitasking several different projects at one time.
• Be organized and capable of tracking work due dates and expectations.
