About The Position

We are seeking an experienced OSP Data Center Superintendent to lead and manage all outside plant (OSP) field operations supporting large-scale data center and fiber projects. This role is responsible for overseeing OSP construction activities, leading field teams, coordinating logistics, and ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-time project delivery. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in OSP fiber deployment, backbone infrastructure, and large crew management, along with the ability to operate effectively in fast-paced, mission-critical environments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (technical certification preferred)
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in telecommunications, OSP construction, or fiber infrastructure
  • At least 2+ years in a supervisory or superintendent role, managing field operations
  • Proven experience leading large OSP crews (40+ personnel) in enterprise or telecommunication environments
  • Experience managing OSP job site logistics (materials, equipment, crews)
  • Ability to read and interpret OSP construction prints, utility plans, and project specifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting hyperscale or enterprise data center OSP deployments
  • BICSI Installer 2, Technician, or RCDD certification
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • CPR/First Aid certification
  • Knowledge of permitting, trenching, boring, and underground/ aerial OSP construction methods
  • PMP or construction management coursework

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day OSP field operations for data center projects, including fiber backbone installation and outside plant infrastructure
  • Supervise and coordinate large field crews (40–50 technicians) and subcontractors supporting OSP builds
  • Oversee OSP job site logistics, including fiber deliveries, equipment usage, splicing schedules, and labor allocation
  • Serve as the primary on-site point of contact for clients, general contractors, inspectors, and utility stakeholders
  • Ensure all work complies with OSP construction standards, project specifications, and regulations
  • Conduct site walks, inspections, and quality control for all outside plant infrastructure
  • Interpret and execute work based on OSP construction drawings, permit plans, and blueprints
  • Track production, update schedules, and coordinate with project management on progress and forecasting
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including daily logs, test results, and production reports
  • Enforce company policies, safety standards, and job site rules across all OSP crews
