About The Position

The Oshkaabewis-Kwe will perform and/or oversee a variety of administrative tasks to support the Director of Mino Bimaadiziwin. To bring balance, the Oshkaabewis-Kwe will also work alongside the Oshkaabewis – Helper or independently when a female helper is required in the coordination, and/or facilitation of teachings, ceremonies, and well-being sessions to meet the needs of staff, children, youth, families and community.

Requirements

  • OSSD (High School Diploma)
  • Proficient in MS Office Software and database
  • Knowledge and understanding of Anishinabek culture, traditions, and the Seven Grandfather Teachings

  • Post-Secondary, in the helping field, an asset

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the department consistently provides relevant, up to date and culturally/wellbeing appropriate programs and services information.
  • As assigned, assist with various community and organizational sessions relating cultural practices and well-being options for staff, families, communities and clients
  • Assist with implementation of cultural teachings and ceremonies as required and directed.
  • Provide administration support to the Director of Mino Bimaadiziwin
