Orthopedic Technician Specialty is responsible for providing technical guidance to a group of technicians engaged in applying various medically or surgically prescribed treatments on an assigned shift in Trauma & Rehab service lines. Employees in the class serves as an instructor with responsibility for teaching practical and graduate nurses, nursing students, and newly hired orthopedic trainees in elementary and advanced orthopedic techniques, procedures and equipment. Primary emphasis is on technical assistance to technicians assigned to patient treatment in various locations, making rounds to insure equipment is in proper functioning order insuring the best possible coverage of hospital areas and personnel and applying or assisting technicians in complicated treatments.
