The Orthopedic Technician will perform casts, cast reapplication, and splint application under the direction of a Physician or Advanced Care Practitioner (ACP). This role involves monitoring and maintaining orthopedic equipment and supplies, providing patient and family instructions, preparing patients for examinations, performing simple dressing changes, entering orders for labs and x-rays, cleaning rooms and instruments, and assisting clinicians with procedures. The technician will also be responsible for recognizing and accommodating cultural and language differences, assisting with film retrieval, and performing facility acuity coding.
