About The Position

ERP International, LLC is seeking Orthopedic Technician-Cast for full-time positions supporting Naval Medical Center San Diego. Requirements

  • Degree: Certificate.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent with additional training or education; supplemented with one (1) year of related experience in an accredited health care hospital which results in familiarity with and knowledge of hospital or clinic routines and procedures in orthopedics, including orthopedic trauma service, pediatrics, hand, foot and ankle, sports, and/or spine.
  • Certification: Maintain a national certification by American Society of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) or National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologists. (NBCOT)
  • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of California.
  • Experience: One year of experience within the last two years as an orthopedic technician in an accredited hospital clinical setting.
  • Life Support Certification: Possess a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule: Monday - Friday 0600-1800 - 8.5 hour shifts
  • No Holidays, No on call, or Weekends!
  • Assists physicians with patient care; properly fits and applies pre-operative braces, crutches, and other soft goods; assists in preparation for and application of casts and orthopedic appliances; changes dressings; removes sutures, casts, and splints.
  • Assists physicians and nurses with orthopedic procedures, including wound care, aspirations, minor surgical procedures, and fracture reductions; instructs patients in cast and traction care and the use of orthopedic appliances.
  • Maintains clean and well-stocked cast and soft goods room; orders special supplies and/or equipment.
  • Coordinates data collection resources for the clinic information systems.
  • Remains current with orthopedic trends, care and supplies; performs other duties as assigned

Benefits

  • Pay Scale: $36/hr to $41/hr, to be determined based on employment options, qualifications, experience, and location
