About The Position

This role involves providing coverage for an Orthopedic Surgery Physician Assistant position. The focus will be on managing orthopedic patients, with a particular emphasis on those undergoing total joint procedures. Responsibilities include conducting inpatient rounding on post-operative patients, managing their medications, providing updates, and addressing questions about surgical procedures and discharges. Additionally, the PA will provide clinic coverage for a variety of patient needs, such as new patient consultations, fracture assessments, post-operative follow-ups, and administering injections. The position is based in an integrated hospital and outpatient clinic setting.

Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – American Hospital Association accredited.

Responsibilities

• Manage orthopedic patients, particularly those undergoing total joint procedures.
• Conduct inpatient rounding on post-operative patients, including medication management, patient updates, and addressing inquiries related to surgical procedures and discharges.
• Provide clinic coverage for new patients, fracture assessments, post-operative follow-ups, and administering injections.
