About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens position for an Orthopedic Surgeon providing inpatient and call coverage at both Waterloo and Cedar Falls Medical Centers in Iowa. The role involves managing patients of all ages with a wide range of orthopedic conditions, including trauma, spine issues, hand, foot, knee, hip, shoulder, and elbow problems. The surgeon will be responsible for performing history and physical exams, admitting, evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and consulting on orthopedic conditions. This includes performing surgical procedures for trauma, infections, tumors, and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system, as well as assessing and stabilizing patients with emergent conditions. The position requires 24-hour call coverage and involves taking calls from anyone who calls into the facility with questions.

Requirements

Board Certified (BC)
IA or IMLC License
Fellowship trained
Clean malpractice/background history
Hospital Privileges Required

Responsibilities

Provide inpatient and call coverage at both Waterloo and Cedar Falls Medical Centers.
Take calls from anyone who calls into the facility with questions (non-negotiable).
Perform history and physical exams, admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for orthopedic conditions.
Perform surgical procedures for trauma, infections, tumors, degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system.
Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions.
