About The Position

We are seeking an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine for a Locum Tenens position at a hospital in Aurora, IL. This role involves providing both clinical and on-call coverage for a period of 6 months, starting in July 2026. The surgeon will manage a patient load of 25-30 adults per day in the clinic, perform complex sports medicine procedures, and participate in a shared call rotation. This position is to cover a vacancy within the Sports Medicine program.

Requirements

• Active IL license or IMLC required
• Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Surgery
• DEA required
• Sports Medicine Fellowship required
• Must have multi-ligament and hip arthroscopy experience
• Strong sports medicine surgical background
• Hospital Privileges Required

Responsibilities

• Provide clinic and surgical coverage in orthopedic sports medicine
• Perform complex sports medicine procedures
• Manage patient care, follow-ups, and surgical planning
• Participate in call rotation and respond to ER consults
• Collaborate with orthopedic team and APPs
• Round within 24 hours of admission
