About The Position

Supports healthcare providers in delivering high-quality patient care by performing a combination of clinical and administrative duties in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs and medical histories, coordinating patient flow, scheduling appointments, collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, and providing patient education on treatments, medications, and care plans. Serves as a key liaison between patients and the care team, ensuring a positive patient experience while collaborating closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and nursing staff. Additional responsibilities include maintaining immunization inventory, administering vaccines (when qualified), supporting quality and safety initiatives, performing general office functions, and assisting with the onboarding and mentorship of junior Medical Assistants. Strong patient care, communication, and organizational skills are essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required
  • Direct MA experience or medical field work 1-2 years required
  • Basic Life Support [BLS Certification]
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for success in this position.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in complex and busy environments.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Comply with all local, state, and federal privacy and confidentiality rules and regulations.
  • Ability to take vital signs and manual blood pressure, as well as collect blood samples and other specimens.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Managing one's own time and the time of others.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's Degree Medical Assisting preferred
  • Certified Medical Assistant [National Certification] - Preferred
