About The Position
Oklahoma Surgical Hospital is seeking a full-time Orthopedic Cross Trained Assistant to support registered nurses and the nursing and medical staff in providing direct and indirect patient care and optimum patient outcomes. This is a safety-sensitive paraprofessional role. Under an RN’s direction and supervision, the assistant may help with activities, personal care, comfort measures, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and certain tests or procedures for a specific patient population. The position also requires competency in covering unit secretary duties. The schedule is three 7 p.m.–7 a.m. shifts between Monday and Friday, plus one 8-hour Saturday shift as the only weekend requirement. The role qualifies for the full benefits package and discretionary quarterly bonuses.
Requirements
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Basic Life Support certification before the start date, or completion of a class at OSH within 60 days of starting; the class is free.
- Cognitive, technical, and interpersonal skills to deliver direct and indirect care under the direction of an RN.
- Cooperation and a strong team focus.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated competency in current caregiver practices specific to the unit and patient age group.
Nice To Haves
- Zero to six months of prior experience as a Nurse Aide in a healthcare environment, or completion of a Nurse Aide or EMT training program.
Responsibilities
