About The Position

Join our team at Missoula Bone & Joint and Surgery Center as an Orthopedic Assistant and play a vital role in delivering high-quality orthopedic care to our patients. In this hands-on clinical position, you will work closely with physicians and providers to support patient care throughout their visit, ensuring a smooth, efficient, and compassionate experience from start to finish. This onsite opportunity allows you to be part of a collaborative clinical team in our modern Missoula, MT facility. The role is part-time with a total of 29 hours per week. Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a clinical setting
BLS certification required
Ability to work flexible clinic hours and assist during busy clinic days

Nice To Haves

RN, LPN, CMA, ATC, or equivalent medical field education or experience
Previous orthopedic or clinical healthcare experience
Experience working with electronic health records (EHR)

Responsibilities

Work directly with physicians and providers to support patient care throughout the clinic.
Help manage patient flow, escorting patients to exam rooms.
Assist with gowning and positioning.
Gather health histories including medications, allergies, and surgical background.
Document patient information and care activities in the electronic health record (EHR).
Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
Apply and remove casts and splints.
Perform wound care and dressing changes.
Remove sutures or staples.
Prepare injections.
Assist with sterile procedures.
Assist with fitting and providing durable medical equipment (DME) such as braces or orthopedic boots according to established protocols.
Place orders for labs and imaging studies such as MRIs or CT scans.
Schedule surgeries and procedures.
Coordinate pre- and post-operative appointments.
Help manage referrals to other providers when needed.
Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms.
Follow infection control and safety protocols.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards.
Provide excellent patient-centered service.
