About The Position

The Orthopedic Technologist will work under the direction of the orthopedic/plastic surgeons and in collaboration with other members of the health care team of professionals in the fracture clinic. This role provides care to clients with orthopedic problems through the application, adjustment and removal of a variety of cast splints and traction fittings following medical orders of the orthopedic/plastic surgeon or the most responsible physician of the patient.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent required
• Current registration with Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologist required
• Three years experience as an orthopedic technologist required
• Good communication skills (verbal and written) required
• Emergency experience required
• Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with a multidisciplinary team required
• Must demonstrate Osler's Values of Respect, Excellence, Service, Compassion, Innovation and Collaboration
• Good attendance and work record

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and use of basic computer program preferred
• May be required to travel between and work at all Osler sites
