About The Position
SportsMED Orthopaedic Specialists is actively seeking a Board-Eligible/Board-Certified Orthopaedic Spine Surgeon to join their thriving team in Huntsville, Alabama. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate within a leading healthcare environment, ensuring a balanced workload and rewarding experience while building a successful practice. SportsMED, founded in 1995, is one of Alabama’s largest and most diverse orthopaedic and spine care centers, with a team of 25 physicians and 24 advanced practice providers, including 4 fellowship-trained spine surgeons. They offer integrated on-site services including MRI, Physical & Occupational Therapy, DME, Orthotics & Prosthetics, and Urgent Care & Injection Therapy. The practice utilizes the ModMed EMR system and will be opening a new, state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center in early 2027.
Requirements
- BC/BE in Orthopaedic Surgery.
- Fellowship training or planned fellowship in Orthopaedic Spine.
- Strong communication skills.
- Patient-focused, collaborative approach.
- Eligible for or holding a valid Alabama medical license.
Responsibilities
- Primarily focus on degenerative spine cases, with a surgical case mix of 60% lumbar and 40% cervical.
- Collaborate within a leading healthcare environment.
- Build a successful practice.
- Share spine call among the spine surgeons for a single hospital.
