About The Position

This Orthopaedic Office Receptionist position will be expected to cross train as an office tech. The department depends on the front office receptionist for efficient, smooth operation of patient flow and optimal patient experience. The receptionist will be responsible for all intake information, patient demographics, insurance validation, and follow-up scheduling and entering information into the medical record. The receptionist is the core of the department. Steady, frequent phone calls from patients, families, physicians, and referral specialists need prompt attention, kindness, and confidence. The receptionist will communicate frequently with clinical staff and physicians regarding patient needs. Receptionists may circulate positions from greeter, to check-in, to check-out, and may be required to rotate to satellite offices. The office tech position is responsible for collecting patient vitals and assisting with rooming patients for their visits.

Requirements

  • High school graduate.
  • 2 years' experience in clinical physician office practice.
  • Eager to help others and highly organized.
  • Excellent computer literacy.
  • Willing to travel in a 5-county radius of Wabash General Hospital-Main Campus.
  • Works well under pressure.
  • Maintain and demonstrate an understanding of the team approach to patient care and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Cross train as an office tech.
