About The Position

McMillian Orthodontics is seeking an Orthodontic Clinician I to deliver a positive clinical experience to patients while adhering to company policies and state dental laws, rules, and regulations. The role works under the direction and close supervision of an Orthodontist. The position also supports remote patient monitoring, patient education, laboratory work, and the preparation and sterilization of equipment and treatment areas.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to build rapport with patients.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with patients and coworkers.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to set priorities regarding patient care, manage full schedules, and multitask.

Nice To Haves

• Some dental or orthodontic industry experience is preferred.
• Dental Assistant certification if required by the state Dental Board.
• Radiography certification if required by the state Dental Board.
• CPR certification if required by the state Dental Board.

Responsibilities

• Assist in placing and removing orthodontic appliances under the close supervision of the Orthodontist.
• Review patient charts, record appropriate patient data, and transcribe doctor notes.
• Perform laboratory procedures under the close supervision of the Orthodontist.
• Review the remote monitoring dashboard, including reviewing and triaging patient scans, responding to direct patient messages, and triaging notifications.
• Educate patients on orthodontic care and remote monitoring.
• Clean, sterilize, and prepare equipment and the operatory according to standard protocols.
• Follow all infection-control policies and protocols.
• Adhere to company policies and applicable state dental laws, rules, and regulations.
