About The Position

The Orthodontic Assistant provides efficient, high-quality care to patients and reports to the Lead Orthodontic Assistant. The role supports the organization’s mission to provide high-quality, compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children. This is an at-will position, meaning either the employer or employee may terminate employment at any time, with or without cause or prior notice. The pay range is $18–$28 per hour.

Requirements

Radiology education and training that meets state requirements.
Strong interpersonal skills, including a friendly, outgoing demeanor and the ability to actively listen to patients and parents.
Ability to multitask and complete dental tasks correctly and in a timely manner.
Current BLS CPR certification.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of e-Clinical Works (eCW).
Previous experience working in a dental office.

Responsibilities

Provide chair-side assistance to the orthodontist, including fitting orthodontic bands, setting up bonding, placing archwires, delivering appliances, and removing braces in a timely manner.
Collect and record patient medical histories in the Electronic Healthcare Records (EHR) system.
Collaborate with others to provide high-quality care and a positive experience for patients and their families.
Keep the practice clean and presentable, including cleaning restrooms and the patient lobby, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting.
Perform other duties that support the mission of providing high-quality and compassionate dental, vision, and orthodontic services to underserved children.
