Part-Time Orthodontic Assistant – Wave Dental Specialists (Dearborn Heights, MI)
About The Position
Wave Dental Specialists in Dearborn Heights, Michigan is seeking a Part-Time Orthodontic Assistant to work directly with our in-house orthodontist in a busy, collaborative multi-specialty practice. Our team includes two periodontists, an oral surgeon, an endodontist, a prosthodontist, and two pediatric dentists, offering a dynamic and well-supported clinical environment. This is a rotating part-time schedule: Week 1: Monday & Wednesday, Week 2: Tuesday & Thursday. Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Part-time to start, with the opportunity to transition to full-time for the right fit.
Requirements
- X-ray certificate or current Michigan RDA license required
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one-year related experience and/or training or the equivalent of a combination of education and experience in the dental profession.
- Valid X-ray certificate.
- Current license if CDA, RDA, or EFDA (per state requirements).
- CPR & first aid certificate.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and patient-focused
Nice To Haves
- Prior orthodontic assisting experience preferred, but not required
Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside
- Take and process digital x-rays
- Support orthodontic procedures and patient flow
- Maintain instruments, sterilization, and operatory setup
- Provide excellent patient care and education
- Work collaboratively within a multi-specialty team
