About The Position
Cumberland Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics, an affiliate of CHORD Specialty Dental Partners, has an immediate opportunity available for a Orthodontic Dental Assistant! We are seeking a skilled Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join our team. We offer a supportive and collaborative work environment where you can grow and develop your skills while making a positive impact on patient's oral health.
Requirements
- Current State of TN RDA License
- Polishing and Radiology Certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Since this position does require working with children, a criminal background check will be required.
Nice To Haves
- Current CPR Healthcare Provider Certification
- Dental office experience
Responsibilities
- Must be able to work in a pediatric, child-friendly environment
- Review all hygiene patient charts including; reason and necessity of visit, medical history, and x-ray requirement
- Verify patient information with parent or guardian, according to HIPAA privacy standards
- Verify the patient has consent for treatment from parent or guardian
- Advise parent or guardian what to expect in the visit and address any concerns
- Charting all existing/missing teeth, existing restorations, and/or dental procedures
- Obtaining all x-rays necessary in the best quality possible
- Maintaining accurate clinical notes of each visit
- Clean and sterilize all instruments following OSHA and company standards. This includes; scrubbing instruments, packing the instruments and processing them through the statim or autoclave sterilizer
- Must maintain Dental Assisting License in good standing and complete the CE Credits required by state
