About The Position

Elite Orthodontics is a leading orthodontic practice in Bowie, MD, dedicated to delivering outstanding patient care and beautiful smiles. We specialize in braces, Invisalign, and clear aligners, and our team is known for being professional, supportive, and patient-focused. We are seeking an experienced Orthodontic Assistant (Orthodontic Dental Assistant / Chairside Orthodontic Assistant) to join our growing team. This is a full-time, in-office position for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working directly with patients.

Requirements

Maryland Dental Assistant Certification & Radiology License required.
Minimum 1–2 years of orthodontic assisting experience (braces and aligners).
Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, Invisalign, and digital workflows.
Strong communication and patient care skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Team-oriented with the ability to adapt to a busy clinical setting.

Nice To Haves

iTero scanner experience a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide chairside assistance during orthodontic procedures (braces, Invisalign, clear aligners, retainers).
Take digital impressions, X-rays, photos, and intraoral scans.
Prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain treatment rooms, and support OSHA/HIPAA compliance.
Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, and treatment instructions.
Place and remove archwires, separators, bands, and attachments as directed.
Assist in orthodontic charting, updating patient records, and managing treatment progress.
Track lab cases and coordinate appliance delivery.
Support efficient patient flow and appointment scheduling.
