About The Position

Responsible for application, removal and adjustment of casts and soft goods. This role helps the medical staff with orthopedic procedures whenever needed to expedite the patient care process. Responsibilities include promoting patient education and safety, enhancing customer satisfaction, demonstrating understanding of resource utilization and completing all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Registered Orthopedic Technologist (ROT) Certification through the American Society of Orthopedic Professionals (ASOP) or Orthopedic Technologist Certified (OTC) through the National Board for Certification of Orthopedic Technologist (NBCOT).
  • If a candidate is not an ROT or OTC, they must agree to complete the ROT examination within 18 months from the date of hire.
  • To qualify for the exam, the employee must have one year experience in casting under the direction of a physician or six months' experience under the supervision of an ROT.
  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Two years of experience in a health care setting working with patients and staff, providing assistance with responsibilities such as a Medical Assistant (MA), preferably as an Orthopedic Technician.
