About The Position

The Original Stix Drumline is the official drumline of the Detroit Red Wings and a key part of the Winged Wheel Entertainment team. Comprised of talented male and female performers, Original Stix energizes Hockeytown through high-energy performances and fan interactions at select Detroit Red Wings home games throughout the season. Members serve as ambassadors of the Detroit Red Wings fan experience, delivering technically sound, engaging, and dynamic performances on the concourse, throughout the arena seating bowl, and on the ice. Drumline members help create memorable moments for fans while bringing excitement, passion, and entertainment to game day.

Requirements

• Ability to perform "Diddle Exercise" - 2 reps (1st at 130, 2nd at 144) - Cymbals excluded
• Ability to perform "TA 22" - 2 reps (1st at 120, 2nd at 136)
• Ability to perform DEKE (sheet music available on website under Audition Details)
• Perform a selection of applicant's choice that best represents their abilities and what they can bring to the Red Wings Drumline
• Video submission framed to include entire drum/cymbals, upper body, and face
• Final video uploaded to Vimeo or YouTube with a working unlisted URL
• Strong musicianship

Responsibilities

• Perform at assigned Detroit Red Wings home games and special events.
• Deliver high-energy drumline performances throughout Little Caesars Arena.
• Engage with fans and create a fun, welcoming atmosphere.
• Represent the Detroit Red Wings organization in a professional manner.
• Work all games and events assigned by the Detroit Red Wings Game Presentation Department with advanced notice.
• Maintain a high level of musicianship, preparation, and performance quality throughout the season.
