Requirements

  • High school, GED or equivalent experience required
  • Good organization and communication skills required

Nice To Haves

  • College preferred
  • Experience in the transportation industry preferred
  • DOT knowledge of driver requirements preferred
  • Knowledge of Excel, Paperless System, and AS 400 preferred
  • Ability to scan and use copy machine preferred

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and effectively process drivers attending orientation. Drivers must be processed through Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and U.S. Xpress policy to ensure a quick and effective hiring process.
  • Verify and scan all information on driver’s licenses, permanent residence cards, and social security cards. Clip all documents to driver files. This includes physical standards test, medical cards and physicals, chain of custody, and direct deposit forms.
  • Assist Medical, PST, and EFA technicians on site by coordinating/communicating information to drivers.
  • Assist drivers with correcting information on paperless applications and orientation documentation and resubmitting the applications for verification.
  • Assist Onboarding Compliance Specialists in obtaining additional safety documentation and information on driver applications.
  • Assist Human Resources and driver by reviewing tax forms, W-4, HR audits, and I-9.
  • Complete and review all other driver documentation in orientation.
  • Review Driver Medical Cards and Physicals and organize for driver to carry in the truck.
  • Travel and provide remote assistance to other terminals, as needed, to support personnel shortages.
  • Provide support for driver on-boarding activities that occur during non-traditional workdays/hours.
  • Communicate orientation schedules and anticipated driver volumes to our third-party providers who play a role in the on-site orientation process (i.e.: DOT physicals, drug testing, physical standards testing, EFA, etc.).
  • Responsible for addressing questions about drivers going through pending qualification or disqualification processes.
  • Communicate travel arrangements for drivers who are disqualified and/or are hired from pending qualification status.
  • Assist walk-in applicants and return-to-work employees.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
