About The Position

This position will work at ECPI University’s North Charleston, SC campus. Since 1966, the dedicated employees at ECPI University have helped students achieve their goals via practical training and career-focused education with over 50 Associates, Bachelor’s and Master’s Programs. Our culture is to prioritize our students’ success through the support of our dynamic team and industry focused curriculum. This position will provide instruction for incoming students on self-management skills for success. The Orientation & Remedial Instructor covers subject areas including, but not limited to, computer skills, study habits, job seeking and interviewing skills, resume and cover letter writing.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Communications or a Master’s degree with 18 graduate semester hours in the discipline from a regionally accredited educational institution.
  • Strong academic and professional record

  • Experience in a student-centric and hands-on learning environment
  • The highest levels of integrity at all times

  • Exemplary interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • 3 – 5 years practical work experience preferred.
  • 2 years teaching or presentation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Providing hands-on classroom and lab instruction
  • Maintaining and updating course syllabi; assisting in the development of new curricula
  • Preparing and utilizing approved lesson plans
  • Providing for the care of supplies and equipment
  • Implementing evaluation devices of student learning to measure progress and competency
  • Evaluating student competence
  • Preparing student progress reports and grade reports
  • Maintaining accurate and timely attendance records
  • Attending faculty meetings
  • Maintaining professional qualifications through participation in continuing education programs and academic courses
  • Participating in campus events to include open houses, student awards ceremonies, and graduation ceremonies
  • Other duties as assigned.
