About The Position

The Organization Design Expert – Technology is responsible for designing and optimising technology operating models, organisational structures, governance frameworks, and workforce strategies that enable scalable, high-performing engineering and digital organizations. This role partners with senior technology and business leaders to improve organizational effectiveness, delivery performance, decision-making clarity, and workforce alignment across engineering, product, platform, data, and technology operations functions. The successful candidate combines deep organization design expertise with practical experience in modern technology environments, including agile delivery models, platform operating models, product-led organizations, and digital transformation programs.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in organization design, operating model consulting, workforce transformation, or technology strategy.
  • Strong experience working within technology and digital organizations.
  • Proven track record designing operating models for engineering, product, platform, or technology functions.
  • Experience defining governance models, decision frameworks, and organizational metrics.
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery, product operating models, DevOps, and modern engineering organizations.
  • Experience in workforce planning, organizational diagnostics, and transformation programs.
  • Consulting background or experience within large-scale enterprise transformation environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement target operating models for technology organizations.
  • Define scalable organizational structures across engineering, product, architecture, platform, infrastructure, data, and delivery teams.
  • Develop role architectures, accountability models, and organizational layers.
  • Align organizational design with strategic business objectives and technology priorities.
  • Support transformation initiatives including agile, DevOps, platform, and product-centric operating models.
  • Develop and implement span-of-control frameworks and management layering principles.
  • Assess organizational efficiency, decision velocity, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify structures, remove duplication, and optimize team composition.
  • Create organizational health metrics and benchmarking approaches.
  • Establish governance structures for technology delivery and operational oversight.
  • Define decision rights, escalation paths, forums, and accountability models.
  • Create governance cadences supporting portfolio management, prioritization, risk, and delivery oversight.
  • Improve cross-functional collaboration between technology, product, operations, finance, and business teams.
  • Design delivery measurement frameworks and technology performance dashboards.
  • Define engineering, delivery, and operational KPIs and OKRs.
  • Enable data-driven performance management and continuous improvement practices.
  • Establish reporting mechanisms to track organizational effectiveness and delivery outcomes.
  • Lead workforce planning and organizational capacity modeling activities.
  • Assess future capability needs across technology domains.
  • Develop workforce strategies covering build/buy/borrow decisions, location strategy, and talent scalability.
  • Partner with HR and technology leaders on succession planning, skills mapping, and capability development.
  • Support organizational conversations related to restructuring, growth, transformation, and workforce optimization.
  • Facilitate executive-level organizational design conversations and workshops.
  • Present recommendations and insights to senior leadership stakeholders.
  • Support organizational change management and transformation adoption activities.
  • Build strong partnerships across HR, Finance, Strategy, and Technology leadership teams.
