Vituity is seeking Organ Recovery Surgeons to join their Physician Partnership. This role is responsible for supporting, organizing, conducting, and directing the Vituity HEART Thoracic Donor Organ Transplant Recovery Program. The position involves liaison activities between Administration, Surgical Staff, and Medical Staff, focusing on performance measurement, protocol development, research, and quality improvement for the procurement of donor Heart and Lung grafts. The surgeon will be responsible for the recovery of these grafts in accordance with the policies of Vituity-contracted Hospital Systems and clients, adhering to all applicable laws and regulations. This role also includes aiding in compliance with ISHLT, UNOS, and OPOs standards, preparing for inspections, collaborating with physicians and transplant team members on Quality Assurance, facilitating financial and operational efficiencies, coordinating training for nursing staff and transplant coordinators, ensuring tissue typing and organ procurement services are available, and confirming that heart and lung transplant procurement is performed by or under the direct supervision of a qualified surgeon. The surgeon will also participate in hospital and Medical Staff committees related to thoracic transplant donors and follow safety standards.
