About The Position

The Organ Placement Coordinator is a clinical caregiver that functions as a specialized member of the transplant team and provides 24-hour call coverage for the abdominal solid organ transplant programs for organ offer management/ donor call service, along with patient, physician, and hospital calls. This clinical caregiver will work in conjunction with OPOs (Organ Procurement Organizations), on call transplant surgeons and physicians, along with hospital staff to arrange for the successful transplantation of organs. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires.
