About The Position

The Ordnance School Technical Instructor (Career Management Field (CMF) 89) will provide training for Ammunition Stock Control and Accounting Specialists (89A) and Ammunition Specialists (89B). This role involves delivering instruction through classroom sessions, laboratory work, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises, including computer-assisted and simulation/virtual training. Responsibilities include testing, planning, providing remedial assistance, and managing course administration. The instructor must adhere to the Program of Instruction, ensuring all tasks, conditions, and standards are met. When not actively instructing, the individual will engage in cross-training, instructional preparation, testing, and assisting in modules they are not yet certified to teach. The role also requires adherence to safety and security standards, reporting any discrepancies to the Government. Subject matter experts will contribute to revising and updating training materials to ensure doctrinal accuracy and alignment with current training strategies.

Requirements

Completed the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course (CFDIC), or its equivalent within the last five (5) years and the TRADOC Initial Military Training (IMT) Installation Staff and Contractors Course (ISCC).
Must possess the Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) and Additional Skills Identifier (ASI) specific technical training for which being hired and have been certified.
Must be a graduate of either the Ammunition Stock Control and Accounting Specialist MOS or the Ammunition Specialist MOS.
Completed Advance Leader Course (ALC) or the former Basic NCO Course (BNCOC).
Possess a minimum of three years’ experience in the technical and tactical training experience in the MOS for which they are performing the instruction.
Possess knowledge of applicable regulations and doctrine regarding the MOS-specific training.
Must be able to pass all hands-on and written student tests in accordance with the Ordnance School Instructional Management SOP.
Individual qualification requirements include demonstration of familiarization with lab, equipment, and safety procedures; personalization of instructor guides, completion of knowledge and performance tests and auditing specific lesson topics.
Be proficient in Microsoft (MS) Office computer programs (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Must be detail oriented and have excellent organization, planning, coordination, and time management skills.
Possess effective problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
Possess outstanding communicative skills both verbal and nonverbal.
Be able to work with minimal guidance.
Must be able to complete and pass a government issued NACI background check.

Experience developing and updating lesson plans and training materials.

Responsibilities

Provide training including classroom and laboratory conference, discussions, demonstrations, and practical exercises according to lesson plans.
Responsible for simulation/virtual training and/or field exercise training.
Conduct testing, planning, completing additional training, and providing remedial assistance.
Manage course administrative matters.
Follow and understand the Program of Instruction, adhering to task, conditions, and standards.
Instruct in accordance with approved Program of Instruction.
Engage in cross-training, instructional preparation and testing when not instructing.
Serve as an Assistant instructor on modules not currently certified to teach.
Conform to safety and security standards and report discrepancies.
Participate in revisions and making pen and ink changes to Programs of Instruction, lesson plans, and training support materials.
Maintain equipment, enter faults, perform PMCS.
Prepare classrooms and training environments.
Conduct and record academic counseling.
Check test instruments and mock-ups when equipment is used for training.
