Police - Animal Control/Ordinance Enforcement Officer
About The Position
As an ordinance enforcement officer in Cottonwood Heights, you have a pivotal role in maintaining the safety and security of our community. The Animal Services / Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for ensuring compliance with city codes, ordinances, and animal control regulations. This role involves enforcing and educating the public on applicable laws, conducting proactive patrols, and responding to citizen complaints related to animal services and code enforcement issues. The officer serves as a key representative of the City, promoting public safety, community awareness, and responsible pet ownership. Requirements
- Minimum (2) years experience performing related duties preferred.
- Must be in good standing at a current agency (if employed) or have retired within the past 2 years.
- High school diploma, GED, or an appropriate equivalent.
- Must have a valid Utah driver's license or have the ability to obtain one before employment.
- Must be able to pass an in-depth background investigation.
- Must complete and pass a thorough background check, and medical examination, including a drug screen upon conditional offer of employment.

- Previous years of experience and certifications will be considered when negotiating pay, at the discretion of the Chief of Police.
