About The Position

This role involves taking room service orders over the phone, answering questions about menu selections, and coordinating with kitchen staff. The Order Taker will also address guest inquiries regarding wine selections, including origin, vintage, and style. Responsibilities include placing and logging callback orders, notifying guests and management of service delays, and communicating special meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and requests to the kitchen. Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, recording transactions in the MICROS system, and completing closing reports are also key duties. The role requires processing all payment methods. Furthermore, the Order Taker must adhere to all company policies and procedures regarding safety and security, report any accidents or unsafe conditions, and complete required safety training. Maintaining a professional appearance, protecting company assets, and upholding confidentiality are essential. The position requires welcoming and acknowledging guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing service needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and expressing genuine appreciation. Effective communication, both verbal and on the telephone, is crucial. Developing positive working relationships, supporting team goals, and ensuring adherence to quality standards are also expected. The role requires standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods and the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing less than or equal to 10 pounds without assistance. Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors is also part of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Take room service orders over the phone.
  • Answer questions on menu selections and check with kitchen staff.
  • Answer guest questions or concerns regarding the origin, vintage, and style of various wines.
  • Place and log call back for room service order.
  • Notify guests and management of delays in service delivery.
  • Communicate additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day.
  • Record transaction in MICROS system at time of order.
  • Complete all closing reports, including MICROS reports.
  • Process all payment methods.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
  • Protect company assets.
