About The Position

Shamrock Foods Company is seeking an Order Selector to receive, store, and distribute materials, tools, equipment, and products within their establishment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the warehouse and timely fulfillment of customer orders. The position involves working the night shift and requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Fluency in English; speak, read, and write.
  • Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers.
  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions.
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
  • Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
  • Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms.
  • Fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute items to production workers or assembly lines.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or convey orders to packing stations or shipping departments.
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Arrange stock parts in a specified sequence for assembly by other workers.
  • Use a computer to enter records.
  • Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications.
  • Drive a vehicle to transport stored items from the warehouse to the plant or to pick up items from several locations for shipment.
  • Complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing.
  • Maintain inventory records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
