Receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within establishments by performing the following duties. This role is responsible for reading production schedules, customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed. The associate will convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas, and sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences. They will also sort and store perishable goods in refrigerated rooms, fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distribute them to production workers or assembly lines. Additionally, the role involves assembling customer orders from stock, placing orders on pallets or shelves, or conveying orders to packing stations or shipping departments. Other duties include marking materials with identifying information, opening bales, crates, and other containers, recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed, and weighing or counting items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards. The associate will arrange stock parts in a specified sequence for assembly by other workers, use a computer to enter records, compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications, drive a vehicle to transport stored items from the warehouse to the plant or to pick up items for shipment, complete requisition forms to order supplies from other plant departments, prepare parcels for mailing, and maintain inventory records. Other duties as assigned.
