About The Position

Pepsi Bottling Ventures (PBV) is seeking an Order Picker / Warehouse Associate for its 2nd shift operations. PBV is the nation's largest private bottler and distributor of Pepsi beverages, with operations in NC, SC, MD, & DE. This role is crucial for safely and efficiently performing various warehouse duties to support customers and meet business demands. The position involves a range of tasks including pulling, loading, unloading, sorting, staging, stacking, building pallets, wrapping, transporting, counting, quality control checks, dumping, rework, and replenishing of PBV products and materials. The specific duties may vary by facility.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must be able to pass the forklift skills assessment and safely operate PBV Material Handling Equipment.
  • At least six (6) months of Forklift experience preferred.
  • Computer/Human Machine Interface skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Good math, reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Sorting and grouping skills.
  • Must be able to read and understand the difference in product labels and load ticket instructions.
  • Must be able to count large quantities of products and materials.
  • Must be able to read/hear and understand procedures for performing work.
  • Must be able to work in a warehouse environment that is not climate controlled with exposure to hot/humid or cold weather conditions.
  • Constantly (67%-100%) required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Occasionally (0%-33%) required to sit, read, climb, reach, kneel, bend, push, crawl, reach, pull cases of product, walk, and stand.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write 100% English.

Nice To Haves

  • At least six (6) months of Forklift experience.

Responsibilities

  • Verify accuracy and quality of products received from vendors/suppliers and shipped to customers.
  • Perform all check-in/check-out duties and maintain proper records (BOLs, receivers, pick tickets, etc.) according to warehouse SOPs.
  • Count returned goods (damaged, full, empty) from sales and delivery personnel.
  • Safely and efficiently operate yard switcher and automatic/straight trucks on premises for loading/unloading.
  • Interact with automation systems, voice pick systems, paper pick tickets, and/or other warehouse management systems to verify and record product, build and verify pallets, or place product on conveyors.
  • Identify machine faults, troubleshoot, correct system errors/issues, and perform basic cleaning and maintenance on automation systems.
  • Safely and efficiently operate various warehouse material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, HSPA Claw, walkie-rider pallet jack, wrappers) to store, stage, retrieve, replenish, load, or unload product.
  • Safely and efficiently operate other warehouse and material handling machinery (e.g., floor scrubber, cardboard baler, dock plates, bay doors).
  • Perform all required safety and pre-trip checks on assigned machinery.
  • Perform janitorial tasks as necessary to maintain a clean and organized work area, including emptying trash, cleaning spills, picking up debris, and restacking pallets/product.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Security, and other food safety rules and guidelines.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality of work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
