About The Position

The Order Fulfillment Specialist fulfills customer orders by accurately and efficiently picking, packing, and shipping products, ensuring they are protected during shipment to Customers in accordance with the methods described in the purchase order and process documentation. Ensures the accuracy of each order in terms of part numbers, quantities, traceability, and shipping information.

Requirements

  • 0-1 year in shipping and receiving or warehouse experience
  • Must be certified in the use of required powered equipment once in position

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in handheld/digital warehouse management system strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with material handling using a manual pallet jack or powered equipment preferred (i.e., powered equipment, WAV, pallet jack)
  • Previous STERIS experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Proficient with handheld WMS functions required for picking, inventory look-up, and other assigned tasks.
  • Meet picking and shipping productivity and accuracy goals for domestic ground Customer and internal Customer orders using applicable hardware/software.
  • Follow operating procedures and work instructions related to accurate and efficient picking, shipping, and handling of products.
  • Proficient with various shipping systems & software (FedEx, UPS, etc.), including launching and closing out systems for the day.
  • Prepare and load pallets for ground shipments
  • Use of required power equipment, such as a WAV for picking and stocking
  • Follow documented processes and pay close attention to detail to ensure the accuracy and completeness of processes and/or steps leading to the accomplishment of results.
  • Identify the need for equipment maintenance and complete the work request for the maintenance.
  • Complete cleaning routines to maintain a safe and efficient warehouse environment
  • Understand and comply with company quality system processes with an understanding of the impact the position has on both the customer and quality
  • Recognize nonconforming material and initiate any action necessary to prevent or correct the nonconformity
  • Participate in Lean processes, including but not limited to updating hour-by-hour boards, tracking data, leading 5S audits, and using basic lean tools.
  • Always ensure safe operation by reporting and/or correcting safety concerns and look for ways to improve quality, safety, and efficiency to support continuous improvement.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
