Learn about our company culture directly from our team. As an Order Entry Clerk you will assist the Inside Sales Department by entering data from email and faxed orders into the computer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • 1 year of data entry or related experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to diligently attend to detail and pursue quality in accomplishing tasks.
  • Accountability & Dependability: Able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.
  • Customer Focus: Ability to build and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Speaking: Ability to use language that is appropriate to the audience, occasion, and purpose.
  • Writing: Ability to generate messages that instigate appropriate actions.
  • Typing: Score in the proficient range on typing assessment.

Nice To Haves

  • Product Knowledge: Familiarity and basic understanding of product names. (Training in this area will be provided upon hire)

Responsibilities

  • Compile and sort emails, faxes, EDI orders and orders delivered through web portals according to priority.
  • Review orders for any deficiencies prior to entry; resolve discrepancies by using standard procedure or returning incomplete orders to team leader for resolution.
  • Verify customer information is correct.
  • Input customer sales order by inputting alphabetic and numeric information into order entry screen.
  • Prepare commercial customer quotes, pricing proposals, and bid responses.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to resolve questions.
  • Verify pricing, discounts, margins, freight charges, and lead times.
  • Communicate with customer by email or fax their order confirmation with unit price, shipping dates, and any anticipated delays.
  • Inform shipping warehouse of pertinent information about the order when necessary.
  • Maintain and follow policy and procedures.
  • Maintain customer confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
