About The Position

Ascend Learning is hiring a part-time Order & Billing Specialist to support their Jones & Bartlett Learning business. This role serves as a key point of contact for customer order inquiries, resolving issues with professionalism and accuracy. The specialist will collaborate cross-functionally with sales, inventory, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment. This is an opportunity for a quick learner who thrives in a service-oriented environment and enjoys building relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The role is remote within the United States and requires 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years of experience in account management, customer service, or sales support
  • Experience using D365 CRM
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and a positive, collaborative approach to working across teams
  • Proven customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage multiple systems and client accounts simultaneously
  • Self-motivated critical thinker who can work independently with minimal supervision, while also contributing to team initiatives

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred
  • Experience with reporting creation and analysis preferred

Responsibilities

  • Handle daily, weekly, and monthly order management tasks, as well as special service and billing projects
  • Act as the first point of contact for customer order inquiries, supporting product selection and resolving issues with professional, courteous service
  • Review and process new sales orders, change orders, quotes, and cancellations via phone, email, or internal ticket system
  • Answer questions regarding products, pricing, and proof of delivery
  • Collaborate with inventory, sales, and warehouse teams to ensure orders are fulfilled on time
  • Maintain accurate client information in Elan (ERP system) and manage escalated internal, client, and partner inquiries with supporting documentation within established service levels
  • Cultivate internal relationships with the sales organization and communicate pertinent customer concerns to sales personnel
