About The Position

In addition, Applied Energy Systems is ISO certified providing precision welding services to the medical device industry and is a sales representative to a leading manufacturer of welding equipment. The Orbital Welder will support our Production Department by welding high and ultra high purity gas delivery system components using semi-automatic orbital welding equipment. This position works in a clean-room environment and requires an understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and job travelers. The candidate must have good manual dexterity, experience with mechanical assembly and manufacturing measuring and math skills.

Requirements

• Must have good vision and dexterity
• Must be able to sit throughout the day for extended periods of time
• Be able to follow protocols and direction thoroughly and repetitively
• 1-2 years' experience in a welding, production, assembly, or manufacturing environment
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation

• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Excellent hand-eye coordination with the ability to work with and handle small instruments and components
• Strong appreciation for time management, priorities, and deadlines
• High School degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Read project drawings, specifications, work orders, and procedures
• Position, align, and set-up components according to specifications
• Identify faulty components and/or test and inspect welded surfaces for quality
• Safely operate orbital welding equipment
• Perform standard welding procedures
• Complete production paperwork and recordkeeping
• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work area (5S)
• Willing to work overtime as required
• Effectively interface with team members for component and equipment resources
