About The Position

The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member for the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (OMS). This is a non-tenured appointment stream position, with a rank of Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, determined by experience and qualifications. The role's primary focus is on clinical service and leadership, with no didactic teaching or research responsibilities. The position involves participation in University Dental Health Services (UDHS), a private group dental practice staffed by Pitt Dental Medicine faculty. The successful candidate will join a team of faculty providers delivering high-quality dental care to the community, with opportunities to practice in a private setting, diagnose, and treat patients. The faculty member will also supervise patient care in the clinical setting as needed for the dental program's operation.

Requirements

  • DDS or DMD degree.
  • Eligible for Board certification, or be Board certified, by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Possess or be able to obtain an appropriate license for clinical practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
  • Have a developed or developing area of clinical excellence.
  • Have mentoring experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional training credentials, such as an MD, PhD, fellowship qualification, or other advanced degrees.

Responsibilities
