Lake Jackson Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a skilled and compassionate Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon to join its established specialty practice in Lake Jackson, Texas. Led by Dr. Richard Fugler, DDS, MD, the practice has served the Brazosport community for decades and has built a strong reputation for surgical excellence, professionalism, and thoughtful patient care. Dr. Fugler is a diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has practiced in Lake Jackson since 1998. This opportunity is ideal for an oral surgeon who values clinical autonomy, a broad surgical scope, strong community relationships, and the support of an experienced team. Lake Jackson Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers a comprehensive range of oral and maxillofacial procedures, including: Dental implant placement, Bone grafting, Wisdom tooth removal, Surgical extractions, Pre-prosthetic surgery and reshaping for dentures, Oral pathology, Corrective and orthognathic jaw surgery, Facial trauma and fracture treatment, Treatment of oral and facial lesions, and IV sedation. The practice has a particular depth of experience in implant dentistry, with thousands of implants placed and established referral relationships with dentists throughout the surrounding community. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited oral and maxillofacial surgery residency program.
  • Eligibility for dental licensure in Texas.
  • Strong clinical judgment and surgical skills.
  • Experience with dentoalveolar surgery, implant placement, bone grafting, and IV sedation.
  • A commitment to ethical, evidence-based care.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • An interest in developing lasting relationships with referring doctors.
  • A collaborative and team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad mix of dentoalveolar, implant, reconstructive, pathology, trauma, and orthognathic cases.
  • Provide comprehensive oral and maxillofacial procedures including dental implant placement, bone grafting, wisdom tooth removal, surgical extractions, pre-prosthetic surgery and reshaping for dentures, oral pathology, corrective and orthognathic jaw surgery, facial trauma and fracture treatment, and treatment of oral and facial lesions.
  • Administer IV sedation.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with referring doctors.
  • Collaborate with an experienced clinical and administrative support team.
  • Maintain clinical autonomy within a collaborative environment.
  • Engage in mentorship and professional development.
