About The Position

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for banking professionals with hands-on Oracle FLEXCUBE expertise across credit, lending, customer records, contract management, and core banking operations. This role supports a research initiative focused on accurately modelling real-world banking workflows in Oracle FLEXCUBE. Selected professionals will analyse customer and contract positions, calculate exposure, distinguish validation activities from booked transactions, assess workflow completeness, and ensure banking decisions and handoffs are fully traceable and auditable.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional banking experience in banking operations, credit, lending, or a related core-banking function
  • Current or recent hands-on use of Oracle FLEXCUBE at least weekly
  • Strong familiarity with Oracle FLEXCUBE customer, contract, credit, and transaction workflows
  • Practical understanding of credit standards, exposure calculations, arrears, limits, and available headroom
  • Strong ability to distinguish validation activity from booked contractual transactions
  • Experience interpreting CIF structures, facility hierarchies, review dates, and customer relationship records
  • Familiarity with product parameters, GL mapping, settlement references, and core banking configuration
  • Strong understanding of audit trails, operational handoffs, and banking-control requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
  • Strong written English and ability to document banking decisions precisely and clearly

Nice To Haves

  • Banking or credit qualifications such as Chartered Banker, Certified Credit Professional, or comparable credentials are advantageous
  • Equivalent substantial hands-on core banking experience may also be considered

Responsibilities

  • Calculate current customer or facility exposure according to applicable bank credit standards
  • Assess arrears, available headroom, utilised limits, and overall credit position as of a specified business date
  • Interpret lending limits, facility structures, and approval thresholds
  • Determine whether cases require branch-level approval or escalation to a credit committee
  • Apply the correct policy, limit, and effective-date framework when evaluating exposure
  • Navigate contract inquiry and lifecycle workflows across origination, drawdown, repayment, and release
  • Review contract records to determine what has actually been booked
  • Distinguish validation-only postings from transactions that alter the underlying contract
  • Verify branch lending repayments and other contract activity
  • Identify incomplete or incorrectly represented transaction histories
  • Work with Customer Information File (CIF) structures and relationship hierarchies
  • Review customer records for completeness and consistency
  • Record contact and interaction histories accurately, including partial or transferred cases
  • Set and interpret review dates, follow-up flags, and customer-file actions
  • Determine which information is confirmed versus assumed when taking over a workflow
  • Interpret product parameter tables and product configuration within Oracle FLEXCUBE
  • Review General Ledger mappings relevant to banking products and transactions
  • Understand how product configuration constrains permitted transaction behaviour
  • Interpret settlement and correspondent references where relevant
  • Identify configuration or reference-data issues affecting contract processing
  • Apply internal credit standards and policies to determine current risk positions
  • Maintain awareness of policy versions, effective dates, and applicable limits
  • Evaluate cases against the standards in force on the relevant business date
  • Identify approval, documentation, or escalation requirements
  • Ensure conclusions are supported by appropriate banking records and policy criteria
  • Confirm that customer and contract records accurately reflect completed actions
  • Determine whether outstanding items remain unresolved before a case progresses
  • Document validations, decisions, assumptions, and open issues clearly
  • Ensure records are sufficiently complete for the next reviewer or approving committee
  • Review relevant MIS and reporting screens for exposure and customer-position information
  • Maintain clear audit trails so outcomes are traceable rather than recorded informally
