About The Position

The Oracle DBA installs, configures, and administers Oracle databases (11g, 12c, and 19c) across development, test, UAT, and production environments on Linux/Unix platforms. The role handles database creation, configuration, cloning, deletion, decommissioning, storage management, and routine maintenance. The DBA designs and executes backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, including restores and point-in-time recovery, and tests procedures to support disaster recovery readiness. The role monitors and tunes database performance using AWR, ADDM, ASH, OEM, and performance views, addressing issues involving CPU, memory, I/O, SQL, indexing, statistics, and initialization parameters. The position implements and supports Oracle RAC and Data Guard high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions, including failover and switchover operations, DR drills, and business continuity testing. It also manages database security and compliance, applies patches and upgrades, supports migrations, and provides production incident response and root-cause analysis. The DBA coordinates with application, infrastructure, system, and network teams; automates routine tasks with shell scripting where applicable; maintains operational documentation; and participates in 24x7 on-call support.
